Redevelopment Brisbane Quarry Site. The Brisbane City Council’s city planning committee have given the thumbs up on a development proposal to transform the 49-hectare quarry site on Settlement Road, Keperra.
Brookfield Residential Properties lodged the proposal in 2016 for the $313 million redevelopment.
Quarrying activities will be gradually be phased out, eventually ceasing, according to the Courier Mail, who said redevelopment work was expected to start in 2019.
“Once quarrying is complete, we are proposing to turn the site into a master-planned community for people to live, work and play,” Brookfield said.
“Approximately 65 per cent of the site is proposed to remain as open space, as bushland, landscaped parks, active recreation and conservation reserves.”
