When is the right time to invest in Solar!

If you are thinking of Solar, then no doubt you would be aware of the abundance of TV and Media adverts about cheap Solar Systems.

The common denominator or go to point is how cheap and affordable these systems are!

Well cheap is not always a good starting point especially with Solar technology.

In order to sell Solar and qualify for all the “Government Renewable Energy Schemes” you need to be an approved Clean Energy Council Retailer.
The Clean Energy Council (CEC) is the governing body for the industry and as such they advise on the Solar Panels, Mounting Brackets and Inverters that can be used.

In the last 6 years in Queensland over 500 Solar companies have ceased to exist and whilst some of them re-invent themselves under different names historically a lot of these guidelines had been ignored.

Therefore, the CEC advises as follows;

To qualify for any Government rebate the Solar Panels, Inverters and Mounting Brackets must be on the CEC list of approved suppliers on their website. www.cleanenerycouncil.org.au Any company supplying the above equipment must be CEC approved retailer. The installation must be carried out by a CEC Approved installer.

China is by far the biggest manufacturer of Solar Panels and accessories and whilst there is a mixture of quality only the bigger companies are on the CEC list, with warranties and guarantees around performance and longevity.

Given the current American stance around imports this is one avenue of export that is currently under threat to the
Chinese manufacturing industry. With the Government run factories still mass-producing Solar the Australian market has benefited from this over stock with very attractive pricing.
